Mission Statement

The Token Institute is a nonprofit cultural and educational organization ensuring technology expands what it means to tell human stories. We adamantly avoid certainty in a rapidly unfolding field, always searching for nuance. We create a space for artists and technologists to learn from each other through bold experimentation & critical dialogue.

Rew Otto Gordon is a cultural curator based in Chicago, IL

Land Acknowledgement

The Token Film Conference takes place on the ancestral homelands of the Potawatomi, Odawa, Ojibwe, Miami, and Ho‑Chunk peoples, who have lived on and cared for this land for generations. As we explore emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, it is especially important to acknowledge the land and the histories embedded within it. Technological futures are built in physical places, and recognizing whose land we occupy reminds us that innovation should move forward with awareness, respect, and responsibility.
